You can help stop our children becoming problem gamblers
Right now there is an Australia wide assault on our children. An assault that lures them into pubs and then exposes them to the sights, sounds and the experience of an easy win on the pokies.
Stopping this assault can be no more difficult than pub owners keeping kids out of their pokie places. Its no more costly than painting a new sign on their doors. But pokie operators need to be told. And the biggest pokie pub operator is Woolworths with over 11,000 pokies. And Woolworths needs to be told to Make Pokie Places Kid Free.
Let the biggest pub owner know how you think. It's easy, free and will take only a few seconds to electronically sign the petition to Make Pokie Places Kid Free
If pub owners don't want to voluntarily exclude children then we need to tell our government leaders too.
Grown-ups have a choice about pokie gambling. Like cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption, TAB betting or visiting a brothel, pokie gambling is a legal but government controlled activity. But children have no such choice.
And sometimes the adults have limited choices themselves. Many Pokie Pubs with the worst gambling addictions are located in the poorer areas of our community where offers of free food, playrooms and movies for kids gets them inside.
Click here to send a message to our state government leaders that this pokie assault on our kids has to stop.
It will take so very little to make such a big difference. Let's draw the line on pokie gambling with our children.
Thanks for your help
PS - if you would like to do more forward this email to 10 of your friends. You can also be part of the Campaign to Make Pokie Places Kid Free please sign up at www.PokieAct.org . Signing is free and shows that you care.

Do Your Own Thing
Your personal action will be more effective than the PokieAct.org template
Call up your local radio station, write to your local member of State parliament, send a personalized letter to your local Woolworths and tell them you're going to shop somewhere else until they keep Australian kids out of their pokie pubs.
- You'll be pleasantly surprised how many people listen to talk radio. It's a great way to encourage knowledgeable debate.
- We know that your MPs take personalised emails more seriously then proforma emails. Write to them about your own feelings
- Woolies and Coles are two of the largest pokie pub operators in Australia; particularly in Victoria and Queensland. By talking with your own consumer dollars, you'll let them know that luring kids to pokie gambling is not on.
And just talking to your friends and family about PokieAct is the best way to effective action. Got a better way? Tell us by clicking here
